The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) is hosting online forums to inform the community and gather feedback on the upcoming AHCCCS initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: On behalf of AHCCCS, Health Management Associates (HMA) is hosting three in-person stakeholder sessions around Arizona for current AHCCCS Complete Care and AHCCCS Complete Care Behavioral Health Members to provide input. Sessions will include an overview of AHCCCS, and participants will be asked to complete a brief survey that will help shape the future of Medicaid in Arizona. HMA will be hosting stakeholder sessions in Tucson, Phoenix and Flagstaff for AHCCCS Members and their advocates

AHCCCS Listening Sessions on the future of Arizona Medicaid's 1115 Waiver On Zoom

Details: Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) invites community members, stakeholders, and all interested parties to participate in upcoming Listening Sessions regarding the October 1, 2027, renewal of Arizona’s Section 1115 Medicaid Demonstration Waiver. The Section 1115 Waiver authorizes key programs and initiatives on a 5-year basis. These programs include but are not limited to:

  • The Managed Care delivery system which includes all of the AHCCCS Health Plans,
  • The Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS),
  • Targeted Investments (T.I) 2.0,
  • Parents as Paid Caregivers Program (PPCG),
  • KidsCare Expansion,
  • Housing and Health Opportunities (H2O), and
  • More!

These sessions are an important opportunity for you to:

  • Understand the existing programs under the current demonstration and timelines, including legislative review/approval
  • Share your experiences, questions, and suggestions
  • Help shape the future of AHCCCS to provide comprehensive, quality health care to those in need.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: AHCCCS members, family members, advocates, community members, providers, and stakeholders.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: The 1115 Waiver gives Arizona flexibility to design and improve Medicaid services through innovative approaches that ensure access to comprehensive, quality health care for some of the state’s most vulnerable populations. Join us for this presentation to learn about the 1115 Medicaid Demonstration Waiver renewal process, timelines, and understand the existing program under the current demonstration.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: All AHCCCS members, family members, and stakeholders are welcome to attend.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN: Join us to learn more about the Heat-Related Resource Guide and some precautions to take during the summer when taking psychiatric medications. It is important for everyone to recognize heat-related illnesses and to know when to seek help.

Thursday, June 26, 2024 - 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Jacob's Law Presentation On Microsoft Teams

Arizona House Bill 2442 was passed into law in 2016, and became known as Jacob’s Law. It helped to correct many issues facing foster, kinship, and adopted children who receive behavioral health services.

  • Overview of Jacob’s Law,
  • Review and Use of the DCS Placement Packet,
  • Legal Rights & Protections for Children and Resource Parents, and
  • Covered Services.

Training length is two (2) hours. Certificate of attendance will be provided.
