AHCCCS Posts Summary of Operational Plan for Returning to Normal Eligibility Processes

When the federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) ends, AHCCCS must reinstate many regular enrollment and operational procedures that have been suspended since March 2020. To inform stakeholders of the operational plan, AHCCCS has posted a Summary Public Health Emergency Operational Unwinding Plan.

Find the plan on the Preparing for the End of COVID-19: Return to Normal Renewals web page along with fliers, messaging toolkits, and other resources to help communities prepare for the end of the PHE.

The most important thing AHCCCS members can do today is to make sure their contact information is up to date.

  1. Log in to www.healthearizonaplus.gov to update mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, or call Health-e-Arizona Plus at 1-855-HEA-PLUS (1-855-432-7587), Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Review the Updating Your Contact Information flier to learn how to update your contact information in Health-e-Arizona PLUS.
  2. Check your mailbox for a letter from AHCCCS about renewal of health insurance coverage.
  3. Respond to any requests from AHCCCS for more information so the agency can accurately determine eligibility.

United States Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra has extended the PHE through October 12, 2022. The Biden administration has indicated it will provide 60-day notice to state Medicaid agencies before terminating the PHE.
