Due to Arizona's fiscal crisis, the Legislature did not authorize coverage for hospice services for Acute Care adult members beyond September 30, 2009. Hospice remains a covered service for members enrolled in EPSDT and ALTCS programs. Below is more information:
As part of the FY 2010 Budget, the Legislature accounted for a savings of $50 million to the General Fund ($200 million in total funds) toward AHCCCS program integrity reductions. To assist in that effort, AHCCCS issued an RFI (YH09-0043) and hosted presentations to several vendors. Based on the information provided, AHCCCS developed an RFP (YH10-0002) to enhance program integrity and clinical editing capabilities. More information is provided below:
