On February 23, 2011, the Arizona Senate Appropriations Committee voted on a measure
that would terminate the AHCCCS program. Governor Brewer opposes the termination
of the AHCCCS program and Director Betlach submitted testimony in opposition to
the bill.
To all AHCCCS members and providers, this proposal only passed through one Committee
and has a very long way to go in the legislative process before it would ever become
law. The AHCCCS website will provide updates on any developments regarding this
measure so continue to check it regularly for more information. This will allow
our customer service operators to address the day-to-day issues AHCCCS members have
and assist us to serve our members timely.
