HIPAA 5010 Consortiums and Documentation

5010

The HIPAA 5010 electronic file formats replace the current 4010a electronic file formats (with few exceptions) as the most current version of federally mandated HIPAA transactions, and are required to be implemented for processing no later than January 1, 2012.

5010 Companion Documents, Testing Overviews and related documentation are posted to the Webpage as available and as updates occur.

    This includes a table of the customer identified segments needed, list of 3 files below, and other resources - link to WPC (Washington Publishing Company)
  • 837 Professional Transaction Notes [655KB]
    This is approximately 95% complete. It is being reviewed, finalized, and incorporated into the Companion Guide.
  • 837 Institutional Transaction Notes [616KB]
    This is a copy of the CMS side by side that is publicly available. AHCCCS will update the Note and Usage columns in the next several weeks and will incorporate into the Companion Guide.
  • 837 Dental Transaction Notes [17KB]
    This is only a template. No side by side was provided so this will need to be created from scratch by AHCCCS. This will be created and the Note and Usage columns will be updated in the next several weeks and will be incorporated into the Companion Guide.
