HIPAA 5010 / ICD 10 Consortiums

HIPAA Health Plan/Program Contractor Consortium meetings related to 5010 began in 2009, and Provider/Clearinghouse related communications are slated to begin early summer 2010.

The HIPAA 5010 electronic file formats replace the current 4010a electronic file formats as the most current version of federally mandated HIPAA transactions, and are required to be implemented for processing no later than January 1, 2012.

ICD10

HIPAA Health Plan/Program Contractor Consortium meetings for ICD10 are scheduled to begin in late summer 2010, and Provider/Clearinghouse related communications are slated to begin in early 2011.

ICD-10 replaces the current ICD-9 coding for the classification of disease or health condition, symptoms, and causes, used by hospitals, providers, and others, and is required to be implemented for dates of service 10/1/2013 and after.

Information for each scheduled Consortium Meeting, such as agendas, minutes and issues, and action items and updates is provided below as are any other relevant updates or documentation related to AHCCCS’ implementation of these initiatives
