Eligibility Policy Manual Transmittal #76Subject: Removal of Interview as an Eligibility Requirement for the DES Medicaid Programs Implementation Date: October 7, 2008 Effective 2/1/2008, an interview is no longer an eligibility requirement for the Medicaid programs for which eligibility is determined by the Department of Economic Security (DES). Instead, a "customer contact" will be made to obtain needed information. Customer Contact is defined as a "contact with the customer in-person, by phone, electronically, or in writing" to:
