Eligibility Policy Manual Transmittal #63Subject: Verifying if a Severe Impairment Exists for a Freedom to Work Recipient who is Determined to no Longer be Disabled Implementation Date: August 19, 2008 AHCCCS Eligibility Section 530.00.E is revised and Process #78 is added to Chapter 2000 to provide instructions on how to verify whether a severe impairment continues to exist when DDSA or the PAS determines that a Freedom to Work recipient is no longer disabled. Although the person may no longer be disabled, if DDSA determines that a severe impairment still exists, the recipient may be eligible for the Freedom to Work Medically Improved group. New Process #78 contains instructions for the procedures to follow when either DDSA or the PSA determines that a Freedom to Work recipient is no longer disabled. These include instructions for you to follow in determining if a severe impairment exists. If the person qualifies for the Medically Improved group, the person is given a special exception code in recipient so that these individuals can be tracked. Please call Dan McKeever at 602-417-4455 if you have any questions regarding this transmittal. |
