AHCCCS Citizenship Requirements

Provider Resources

Due to a change in Federal law effective July 1, 2006, AHCCCS members and applicants who are United States (U.S.) citizens must provide additional proof of U.S. citizenship and identity when renewing or applying for AHCCCS health insurance benefits, including Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) and the KidsCare program.

Member letters

AHCCCS is sending all impacted members of AHCCCS health insurance programs, including KidsCare and ALTCS, a letter based on the member's scheduled review date. The letters sent to members differ slightly due to the information available at the time from the Federal government. Members should receive letters approximately 90 days prior to their review.
