Encounter Processing Schedules
Submission of encounter data to The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Administration is a mandatory requirement established by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and is the responsibility of each contractor pursuant to its contract with AHCCCS Administration. Complete, accurate and timely reporting of encounter data is critical to the success of the AHCCCS program. Contractors may submit files as often as desired throughout the month and multiple files may be submitted on the same day for validation and translation, after which each encounter record is evaluated against a series of adjudication edits and audits on at least a monthly basis. Current Production
The current processing schedule for

Future Production
The processing schedule for future production Encounters
are displayed here. This schedule will be available
approximately two months prior to the date it goes current.
Test Schedule
For the test environment the adjudication process begins
every Thursday. Test files must be submitted by 5 PM on
Wednesday. Depending on the volume of test files submitted,
test results are usually available anytime between Friday
and Monday. For additional information regarding testing or
test file submissions, contact the Encounter Unit.
